INVITATION FOR BIDS

LIMITED NATIONAL COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE OPERATION OF CURRENCY EXCHANGE COUNTERS IN THE ARRIVAL POST CUSTOM AREA, BANDARANAIKE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – KATUNAYAKE

TENDER NO. 009/T/2024

Bids are invited from Licensed Commercial Banks or Licensed Specialized Banks or Restricted Dealersin Foreign exchange business approved by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka for the operation of a Currency Exchange Counter in the Arrival Post Custom Area at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake.

Five (05) Currency Exchange Counters in the Arrival Post Custom area at BIA, Katunayake are on bid and prospective bidders may bid for one or more counters. However, a particular bidder will be permitted/awarded to operate only one counter. In the event any bidder wishes to bid for more than one counter, all bidding should be done in one bidding document accompanied by one Bid Bond. 

Terms and conditions and other details applicable will be issued with the Bidding Documents. Bidding Documents may be obtained on working days from 9.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. up to 25th April 2024 from the office of the Head of Commercial & Properties of Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited [AASL], Room No.35, 2nd Floor, Passenger Terminal Building, Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake on a non-refundable payment of Rs.100,000.00 per set in cash. The Bidding Document will be available for inspection free of charge 
at the office of Head of Commercial & Properties.

Bids should be made only on Bidding forms issued by the Company and should accompany a Bid Bond to the value of Rs.5,448,000.00 in cash or in the form of a Bank Draft/Bank Guarantee issued by a reputed Commercial Bank or Licensed Specialized Bank operating in Sri Lanka (Bidders are not permitted to submit the Bank Guarantee from their own Bank) and approved by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, valid for 150 daysfrom the date of opening of Bids.

A Pre-Bid Briefing followed by a visit to the location will be conducted at 2.00 p.m. on 16th April 2024 at Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited, Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake. Bids will be closed at 2.00 p.m. on 26th April 2024 and opened and read publicly at the office of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Aviation, 30th Floor, West Tower, World Trade Center, Colombo 01. Any Bid received after the stipulated time of Bid closing will be rejected unopened. Bidders or their duly authorized representatives may be present at the time of opening of Bids.
